Accommodating Lawyer's Vacation Doesn't Justify Inverting Order of Testimony (Law.com via Yahoo! Finance)

Trial judges have a lot of leeway in deciding how a trial proceeds, and that includes being understanding of attorneys' busy schedules. But a judge who made a defendant put on his medical experts before the plaintiff's to accommodate the plaintiffs lawyer's vacation abused his discretion and deprived the defendant of a fair trial, a New Jersey appeals court says.
